Today’s ‘news’ made a match in tabloid heaven. So perfect, in fact, that many were powerless to resist.
Here’s the story. Singer (and apparent vegetarian) Leona Lewis ‘rescued’ a rabbit from a hungry homeless guy. So while the man went bunnyless, he was given $100 by the benevolent star.
The Sun must have thought this too good to be true. Not only a celebrity story – but one with a cute, fluffy animal! An essential antidote to recessionary gloom, not to mention the lack of actual news.
It was all looking too easy, and even the subs were having fun ('Bugs honey'). But… What’s this? No real picture? No problem!
