As it is Google’s 10th birthday they have let us take a trip down memory lane by bringing back the homepage from Jan 2001 which actually searches their old index. So if you search for new terms that have only been around for a few years a lot of them aren’t there. It’s also very strange to not find any results on things like the Twin Towers, 9/11, or the Obama/McCain presidential campaigns on the internet.
MySpace – it links to a web hosting company
Twitter – links to a site called ‘NATURE – with the nature’
Facebook – interestingly you get a link to the very humble origins of Facebook running on the Harvard University campus! The founder, Mark Zuckerberg, must have still been beavering away on the code to get it ready to launch to the public three years later.
LEWIS PR? – we’re there of course. Numbers 1 and 2 on the listings.
