The bemused tourists down at Tower Bridge this morning will certainly have some different holiday photos to show relatives on their return.
I’ve just got back from my first ‘flash mob’ held down at Potters Field Park, and it was certainly a different experience. For those of you who have done one of these before you will know that it is essentially when a group of people assemble suddenly, do something unusual and then disappear...
We all came along with sleeping bags and blankets and ran across the park - yes, so much exercise early in the morning is an unusual start to my day anyway at least, even without the bedding. We then fell to the floor, throwing the sleeping attire over ourselves and lay still whilst photographers and camera people recorded it all.
Why? Not just because it was a beautiful morning by the Thames (although that made the experience more enjoyable). This ‘mob’ gathered together to raise awareness of youth homelessness in the UK and in particular the NCH’s annual charity fundraiser Byte Night and the Byte Night Local event - sleeping in your back garden with friends, colleagues or families on Oct 5. I’ll certainly be joining in for a great cause.
And the usual plea...if you don’t want to run or sleep, or do anything unusual like mob, you can always just click on the link and give generously?...
