Well, not an actual ‘Michelin star’ obviously, as I am sure Gordon Ramsey wouldn’t be best pleased that these cosseted accolades were being handed out to any Tom, Dick or PR agency. However, Gordon seemed very happy to headline the launch of a new accreditation for Best Companies 2006, in the rather plush surroundings of his Boxwood restaurant this week.
Best companies, better known for partnering with The Sunday Times in the “Best Companies Top 100 best small companies to work for”, launched their new accreditation which sees UK based organisations awarded a ‘Michelin style’ star for their excellent workplaces, practices and leadership, as judged by their own employees.
Amongst a number of plaque-giving ceremonies, photographs and mind blowing detail on far too many staff survey statistical models from Best Companies’ resident Cognitive Psychologist, Gordon Ramsey was the real star. His presentation on his leadership style, staff retention incentives and 5-year career plans for senior staff was extremely insightful and of course entertaining in the notorious expletive filled Ramsey manner.
In all, LEWIS is very pleased with their one star accreditation but of course taking heed of Gordon’s advice, complacency is not an option and the three stars are in our sights!
